You may have noticed we didn’t do an announcement for 7.8.0.2. That’s because these last two releases have focused on overall stability and bug fixes, and those just aren’t as fun to talk about. We’ve had an eventful couple of years with massive new feature additions and it was simply time to catch up on the little things. So this is a reminder to not tolerate bugs! If you find any problems, please notify Support so we can address them.
What We Got
One important note is that with 7.8.0.3 you can fully enjoy compatibility with Windows 11 and MacOS 12 Monterey (including on the M1!).
A feature added in the previous release is that Software search results now show the Map Set tabs. This allows you to easily see results on sets other than the default.
Two small improvements in this release include easier Computer import using Serial numbers, and enhanced permissions for Section Managers. That is, if you import a CSV of computers and you use serial as your primary ID, you don’t need to also map ID as we’ll properly make the ID for you in the records. Also, device imports will use serial in the background so that display devices discovered by KeyAccess will match up with pre-stage records. For Section Managers in KeyConfigure, you can now make and delete divisions and “sub divisions” in the UI with normal right click options.
Final Words
We do strongly recommend upgrading for anyone still on the initial 7.8.0.0 release. There was a bug in that initial version which could in some cases cause loss of configuration settings. Warning sign: if you see blank settings in the Web UI Settings, don’t click Save!
